Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method (FM) is a transformative approach to movement and self-improvement that harnesses the scientific principles of neuroplasticity.

Individuals are guided through gentle, easy and mindful movements, which allow the brain to learn new movement habits and, in the long run, allow a person to cultivate a more potent sense of self.

‍More about Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais method is a unique and innovative approach to body awareness and movement education. It is rooted in the principles of neuroplasticity and aims to help the brain expand awareness and learn effortlessly. This method has been applied in various fields, including rehabilitation, chronic pain, performing arts, sports, and personal development.

One of the core components of the Feldenkrais method is Awareness Through Movement (ATM) lessons. These lessons are designed to guide you through a series of gentle and mindful movements, focusing on minimizing efforts. Unlike traditional exercises that often emphasize repetition and external goals, ATM lessons encourage you to explore your own movement potential and develop a deep sense of self-awareness. Through this process, you can enhance your coordination, flexibility, and overall physical comfort, while also cultivating a more profound and compassionate connection between your mind and body.

It is important to note that the Feldenkrais method is a holistic approach that prompts the improvement of the whole individual. It is not problem-driven so much as a methodology to expand the possibility of learning and improving through exploration.

How Feldenkrais method Works

The method is named after its founder, Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, a physicist and Judo master who developed this approach in the mid-20th century. Inspired by his own experiences with injury and chronic pain, Feldenkrais combined his scientific knowledge with principles of movement, anatomy, and neuroscience to create a method that has since gained global recognition.

Today, the Feldenkrais method continues to evolve and be practiced by individuals seeking to improve their well-being, enhance their performance, and tap into their innate potential for growth and self-discovery.
